Our birth doulas accompany women in labor both in person, and virtually if needed, to help attain a satisfying birth experience. Our doulas' professional training, knowledge, and experience aid them in providing emotional support and physical comfort, and facilitating communication with staff so that you can make informed decisions as they arise in labor. Our doulas can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your spouse or birth partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning and other techniques for comfort.

Parish Doulas provides women with APPA Certified (Association of Placenta Preparation Arts) Placenta Specialists. APPA is the safest and most knowledgeable certification organization not only in the US, but worldwide. All specialists are triple certified, meaning they are certified with the State of Louisiana, certified in Blood Borne Pathogens, and APPA certified *yearly* in order to be the most up-to-date specialists on the latest scientific information in our field. Our specialists proudly serve the Acadiana area!
Postpartum Doula

Postpartum doula services aim to provide essential support to new parents during the postpartum period, helping with infant care, emotional support, and practical assistance. Parish Doulas postpartum services include breastfeeding support from an IBCLC.

At every class, we practice affirmations and comfort measures. We talk about the beauty of birth and even get a little art in. We have a fun time! But most importantly, you will connect with your baby. Oh, we “nerd out” too and learn all of the things; from how your body works to learning about decision making skills, interventions, the Lamaze 6 Healthy Birth Practices, and breastfeeding.
